Biography

Karin has been painting since she was a young child. She found art a wonderful means of expression. During her childhood, there was an abundance of supplies for artists in the schools and she was able to pursue her passion. As a very young child, Karin's mother would take her by the hand and walk through the neighborhood pointing out all aspects of the natural world around her. A great deal of her childhood was spent in the High Sierra, living tent side with her parents and brother. Being out-of-doors was her lifeline. Her love of nature has become the focal point of her artwork. Karin was also able to travel the world throughout her adulthood and this has influenced her art as well. Karin's work features the beauty of locations such as the Almanor Basin in California, the volcanic wonder of Lassen, beautiful Hawaii and the San Francisco Bay Area as well as the Anasazi areas of the Southwest.  In addition she has a series of charming historic buildings in the town of Chester, Ca; a lovely series of flowers and many miscellaneous paintings which do not fit into any particular category.

In her business, Expressions by Karin, her note cards and Giclee prints of original  paintings are enjoying wide spread popularity locally and elsewhere in the United States

Karin is a member of the Marin Society of Artists. Her paintings reside in many private collections both here and abroad.
